Islamic Discussion:: Hadith Of The Day.
Assalam alaikum,
I wish to invite your attention to the following Hadith, related from the Messenger of Allah, Sayyidina Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in which he said,

''Try to pass your mornings and evenings in a state
where your heart is free from all ill-feelings,
jealousy and hatred for anyone, and remember that this
is my Sunnah, and he who loves my Sunnah will be with
me in paradise''(at-Tirmidhi).
This is supported by verse 63 in Surat al-Furqan (25:63) of the Holy Qur'an, where it is stated that ''The true servants of the Most Merciful are those who behave gently and with humility on earth, and whenever the foolish quarrel with them, they reply with {words of} peace.''

Let us ponder over this, and resolve to live our lives as depicted above accordingly.

Assalam alaikum,
May I have the pleasure of reminding my Muslim brothers and sisters...reminding/counsel us as follows:--

1.Refrain from sleeping between Subhu and Ishraq; Asr and
Magrib and Magrib and Isha'i prayers. Be engaged in Zikr
or some other form of Ibadat/worship instead.
2. Avoid sitting with stingy people.
3. Don't eat and drink with your left hand.
4. Don't sleep between people who sit.
5. Don't eat {that } food you have taken out between
your teeth.
6. Don't look at the mirror in the night.
7. Don't break your knuckles.
8. Don't look at the sky while in Sallah.
9. Do'nt spit in the toilet.
10. Do'nt clean your teeth with charcoal.
11. Do'nt look for faults of others.
12. Don't sleep too much, it will cause forgetfulness.
13. Do'nt eat in darkness.
14. Do'nt smell and {then} eat.
15. Do'nt antagonize your friends.

Islamic Discussion:: ESSENTIALS OF TAUHEED.
Assalam alaikum,

Tauheed, the knowledge and belief in the ONENESS of Allah, the Most High..the Merciful, is one of the 5 pillars upon which Islam is built..the other 4 being:--Five daily prayers, Zakkat, Fasting during the month of Ramadan and the Hajj. Tauheed also is the belief that Allah Alone, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, is worthy of worship in the manner/ways shown/taught to us by the His Messengers. The Last of such Messengers is Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Tauheed also teaches us that Allah has pure Names and Attributes that transcend anything that we can imagine.
To make our Tauheed sound/meaningful, we must MIND/OBSERVE the following essentials, namely:--

1. To always speak the Truth.
2. To keep obligations in accordance with the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah.
3. To keep the heart free from hatred.
4. To avoid forbidden food.
5. To shun innovations in religion.
6. To be satisfied with Allah Most High in scarcity and plenty, and turn to Him in happiness or affliction.

Assalamun Alaikum

I am Magdoom, grad student at UF. I need a room mate from January 2012 till the end of July, to share 1BR/1Bath in my 2BR/2Bath apartment at Point west apartments on 34th Street (Right across 34th street graffiti wall). The rent is $300 per month + utilities (electricity and internet).

The apartment is close to

1) Masjid (ICG) and buses 5 and 43 takes you there. Also bus # 5 runs
till 2:00 AM all days except Sunday.

2) UF Golf course (SNAP could serve till the golf course and its a 10-15 min from there. Snap service is available late night, commuting between college and apartment during late hours is easy http://police.ufl.edu/csd/csd_snap.asp .. FREE)

3) Southwest Rec Center. (15 minute walk from the apt. http://www.recsports.ufl.edu/faciliti ... thwest-recreation-center/ FREE)

4) University. (Bus numbers 5,28,34 & 43 can take you to different parts of the campus)

5) Publix and other stores (Westgate Plaza). (5-10 mins by walk)

I still have one room available in my Condo. The closest bus stop is about two traffic lights away though, so whoever rents should have a different mode of transportation and not rely on the bus.
